AVRwell Inc. was born from a shared passion for revolutionizing rehabilitation through immersive technology. Our founding team — former core developers of the REAL System — spent years at the forefront of XR healthcare innovation, creating industry-leading applications for physical and cognitive rehabilitation. During our time at Penumbra, we witnessed firsthand how virtual reality could transform therapy, making it more engaging, effective, and accessible to those in need.

We also saw gaps in the industry — many rehabilitation tools were too expensive, limited to proprietary hardware, or lacked the clinical engagement necessary for true patient impact. With combined expertise in game development, XR technology, and rehabilitation sciences, we set out to build something different.

Our journey began with AquaVision: Oculomotor Training, built on scientific principles of neuroplasticity to help patients recovering from concussions, strokes, and vestibular disorders. Today, AVRwell is focused on a full suite of XR rehabilitation tools, collaborating with clinicians, researchers, and industry partners to bring immersive therapy to more people than ever before.
